Creating a Calendar:
By default, one calendar is created for each user. You can create additional calendars to track different types of functions. For example, you can create one calendar for work events, one for personal events, and another for company events.
By organizing multiple calendars, you can group them to display in a hierarchy. For example, you can group all shared calendars under a folder called "Shared Calendars". You can also move calendars.
- In the Calendar view pane, select a calendar and drag it to the calendar you want to join it with.
- You can also right-click the calendar you want to move and select the "Move" action. In the Select Folder dialog, choose the calendar you want to move it to.
Adding a Calendar:
- Open the Calendar tab.
- From the toolbar, select New > Calendar.
- In the Name text field, enter a name for the calendar.
- Select a color to display events in your calendar.
- Assigning Colors to Calendars:
You can assign colors to your calendars to have their events always appear in the chosen color. This is useful when viewing events from multiple calendars in a single view. The same color can be used for multiple calendars.- Right-click the calendar and select Edit Properties.
- Select a color from the drop-down menu.
- Assigning Colors to Calendars:
- To prevent others from seeing your calendar when scheduling meetings, select Exclude this calendar when reporting free/busy time.
- To synchronize this calendar with a remote one, select Synchronize appointments with a remote calendar. Enter the URL address of the remote iCal file.
- Click OK. The new calendar will appear in the list of calendars.
Adding a New Event:
- To add a new event, select "New Appointment". In the next view, enter the details.
- After selecting attendees, you will know when your attendee is available (if they maintain their calendar in this system).
- Your attendee will receive an invitation email for the event.
- You can add an attachment to the event.
- If you need to perform additional actions with a specific event, use its context menu.
Adding External Calendars:
You can add external Google or Yahoo CalDAV calendars and iCal calendar subscriptions to your list of calendars. Changes in the external calendars will be synchronized with the added CalDAV calendar.
Note: Only CalDAV calendars that support SSL using port 443 can synchronize calendar events with your account.
- In the calendar view pane, click the gear icon and select Add External Calendar.
- Choose the type of calendar you want to add and click Next.
- Select the type of calendar you want to add: CalDAV account or iCal subscription.
- Enter the email address and password for that account.
- Click Next.
- In the Name text field, enter a name for this calendar and select a color.
- To exclude this calendar from the free/busy report, select Exclude this calendar from free/busy reporting.
- Click OK.
The calendar has been added, and events from the external calendar will be synchronized with the added calendar.
